And just like that: It’s a wrap! Berlinale 2023 is history. It was busy, successful, fun and it felt like 2021! Next stop: Bordeaux? Cannes? Spring?
Paris je t´aime!
My professional year always begins in Paris and there could not be a better choice! The hive of buyers and sellers circles around the Champs-Élysées´ cinemas and talks films, business and the old and new year. The year is new and full of high hopes! Bonne année!
Happy, perfect 2023!
Have no fear of perfection, you’ll never reach it. (Salvador Dali)
Finally crossing the Atlantic again: TORONTO 2022!
This was not an easy trip: delayed flight, data problems with my phone and the stupidly browser based Toronto screening schedule! However, apart from these difficulties, it was so nice to be back watching more than 30 films on these spectacular screens in Scotiabank & TIFF Lightbox, seeing the film crowd after the summer again and having lots of sushi! Thank you, Toronto!
75. Locarno Film Festival
I have neglected this little blog this year but I am returning with a bunch of happy Locarno moments. I simply love the festival, the film conversations, the films, the co-production market taking place in this marvelous location on the shore of Lago Maggiore. It was lovely to see my colleagues from X Filme to conquer the co-production market and I fell in love with one of the Piazza movies: ANNIE COLERE! Blandine Lenoir & Laure Calamy is a new french dream team!
Internationale Hofer Filmtage
I have to admit 3 things: 1) I never went to Hof Film Festival before. 2) It was definitely a mistake! 3) I never visited a place before where people ate more sausage. Yes, it was gorgeous weather and Frankenwald showed itself in the best possible light BUT the festival, the films, the young film makers and the atmosphere outshone it! What a special weekend! Thank you!
MIA 2021: Films, friends and the most beautiful film market buildings in the world!
Venice International Film Festival 2021
Welcome 2021!
November/December 2020: more lockdown light, more home office and closed cinemas!
What a year! This year has definitely fabricated too many NOs even before November came! No cinema, no film festivals, no travels, no family visits, no, no, no…..
We will be ending this year with closed cinemas, theaters, galleries, restaurants and still in home office! But we shall not despair and focus on a brighter and more kind-hearted 2021!
Stay tuned for new projects!
Aloha 2020
It was very intense couple of months since I started at X Verleih: the work was intense and energizing at the same time. It is treat to work with passionate film lovers!

C´est fini Cannes 2019
Cannes 2019 is a history! Another great edition of the most magic, stressful and insane film festival in the world! I really ❤️ you! Thank you friends and business partners for making it unique, rewarding and successful!.
This was a great edition with a whole lot memorable films: “Les Miserables”, “Atlantics”, “Portrait de la jeune fille en feu”, “Little Joe”, “Diego Maradona”, “Belle Epoche” among others.
It was refreshing to walk into a gala screening in bright green sneakers!
Astoux et Brun still counts as an institution for seafood, Salsamenteria Di Parma is the perfect hideaway to read a script and have a good coffee. And I loved walking to my apartment with astonishing view along the beach! See you next year, world championship of cinema!
m:brane/ The Financing Forum for Kids Content
The Financing Forum for Kids Content 2019 thank you for this very insightful and fruitful event! It is absolutely stunning how much the producers and filmmakers for children content think about their audience. It is smart, humble, inclusive and rewarding. This was quite a lesson! Looking forward to m:brane next year.

Excited to participate in this event!
Auf Wiedersehen Berlinale 2019
Another Berlin Film Festival came to an end. This was Dieter Kosslick´s last edition, unfortunately poor on film highlights but productive in terms of work and - surprise, surprise - it took place in sunshine and generally good weather. I love my old and new project and now it is time for some hard office work again.
Some location recommendations:
Always fancy, friendly and incredibly tasty: PETER/PAUL http://www.peterpaul.berlin/
A great and easy to reach place for beer and meat lovers: DAS MEISTERSTÜCK
Another cool Berlin craft beer and food location: BRLO https://brlo-brwhouse.de/ (A perfect summer spot too!)
The place where all the industry dines: GOODTIME http://www.goodtime-berlin.de/
And not to forget the tasty coffee getaway on Potsdamer Platz with the always friendly stuff: https://www.facebook.com/SchillerBackstube?
It´s a wrap: Sundance 2019
Thank you KENT STATE team for a great Sundance 2019 edition full of good energy. We had some amazing conversations, met lots of interesting people and we have pushed the project to the next level! It was such a blessing to meet industry friends in sunny Rocky Mountains for a drink and inspiring conversations.
I loved BLINDED BY THE LIGHT by Gurinder Chadha, had a few great, simple pho soups @ PC pho and tried some tasty High West whisky.
All in all a very successful Sundance!
Sundance 2019
26 hours after the departure in Berlin arrival in Park City. Hallelujah! This view compensates a lot, not a proper sleep though….
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Bridging the Dragon Lab + Acquisitions Masterclass in Beijing
What an exciting trip to China it was! The market there is exploding, the audience hungry and the variety of projects nearly endless. So many things are so different but the Chinese audience loves movies and that is for sure a very good news for the international film industry.
